Kumara Wedges

We are celebrating Matariki in Room 14 this week. We decided to make kumara wedges. We had a good look at the kumara to see the difference between them and potatoes. They do look a bit like a red potato, but with pointy ends. Kumara grow under the ground like potatoes.

We had four kumara - Tahi, Rua, Toru, Wha - One, Two, Three, Four.

We had to cut the kumara up into small pieces. We are always very careful with the knives because they are sharp.

We sprinkled seasoning and a bit of oil onto the chopped up kumara and put it in the hot oven.

Then we waited for the kumara to cook. Yum!

Welcome to our class blog

We are so pleased that you have joined us! This blog is a journal of the activities, special achievements, events and current topics for the Room 14 group taught by Fiona. Sue's group is the other Room 14 group, and they may decide to join us here on the blog from time to time. Parents can check in and find reminders of important information that they need, and also to see how much fun we are having learning at school.
